My (Josh) introduction to saison was in Jim’s backyard, with some other homebrew friends. It was something called “Hosewater Saison,” which Jim later admitted had a bit “too much hosewater” in it. We moved on to better examples from there!
Years later, I went on to open a weird little brewery that (initially) refused to brew IPAs in favor of saisons and other approachable farmhouse ales. I’m still not sure this was a good idea (HAHA!), but @atwoodfarmbrewery exists in part because of my friendship with @publicanjim and the advice and mentoring that he shared. He would have loved this beer. Happy birthday, Jim. Miss you, buddy.
