Aging our first ever imperial stout in multiple first use whiskey barrels was something we wanted to do for a very long time, and now that time has come. Over a year resting this beer was racked onto MOUNDS of freshly pressed and scraped Vanilla beans. A robust body and decadent creamy vanilla compliment, but not overpower the beautiful base beer. With a foreword whiskey note, finishing with chocolate, molasses and of course, scooped vanilla ice-cream. This beer will age gracefully for many years to come, we think the sweet spot will be in 2 years. Drinking slightly “hot” right now, this will benefit from cellaring.
