A deep amber, lightly hazy from barrel tannins, and a tan foam. A prominent Scotch nose, with notes of peat smoke coming from the Ardbeg cask of the blend. Sweet with a caramel, toffee, golden raisin character – but not cloying or syrupy, especially with the hop bitterness backing up the finish. Medium bodied for such a large beer at 13.5%. Alcoholic and boozily warming along with the crisp and bitter finish.
