We are loving this red blend of Jurancon Noir (a relatively rare French grape) Valdiguie, Merlot and Malbec. It’s fresh and light with notes of dark berries.
As for its name? Strict French law does not allow the use of Jurancon Noir in Cahors PDO wines and regulators told Fabien he has to remove Jurancon Noir from his wines. But because it’s his favorite, he chose to give another name to his wine and an astonishing answer to French legislation, like Robert de Niro in Taxi Driver.
